Holy Saturday

This is different. I know it. But aren’t we blessed to have a God who never changes, and that his REAL death and his REAL burial were perfect and propitiating and permanent. So today we remember a day that was more than eerily silent that prepared all of history for the deafening silence of a tomb no longer occupied. That empty tomb is still empty and one day the word empty will not mean anything anymore as our eternities are filled with his very face, by faith. I love you and miss you, this is temporary because we are temporary. Fix your eyes on what is everlasting.

Above is our regular Holy Saturday Devotional the only difference this year is some social distancing, but I bet you can figure it out. I still believe the best practice for this day is to visit a cemetery, so maybe this year you stay in the car, you do a google search, or you just think about the beloved DBC saints who have already received their reward. I am so thankful Christ’s resurrection is the surety for my own, by faith.
